CELEBRATION PROPOSALS.
A full weekend of celebrations so that interstaters will be more positive about making the trip.
The weekend of November 26-27 if the current club rooms are available. If not the next earlier weekend. Finger food and drinks to facilitate circulation and conversation.
Seek support from local residents, The present West Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, neighbouring Lifesaving clubs, local businesses and local development companies.
Advertise to the wider community through radio, (Grant Cameron of the ABC is the son of Mel Cameron who played such a decisive part in reaching the community 50 years ago.) local Messenger newspapers, flyers in local shops including Harbour Town.
The organising committee that has so far formed consists of;
Barry Maloney (who should be recorded as the instigator of this whole thing),
Ashley Bahnish who has kept a detailed record of who you are and where you are over the years,
Max Gamlin (did the Tin Shedders ever do anything without Max?),
Neil Hodges (because he wouldn't let the rest of us leave him out and he's the only one with any organising skills),
Robin Kidney (who I swear can talk underwater with a mouth-full of marbles but you still can't keep him out of things),
Bill Fitch (only because he can set up a web page),
Barry Presgrave (because he has a long memory) and
Gary Coombs (because he lets himself be talked into doing things that no-one else wants to do and is chasing up a potential sponsor in the Barossa Valley that will knock your socks off if he can do it.)
