Our second 2005 holiday in December was our first ever in the wet season. We found it differed little from the other times of the year except for the occasional shower and occasional brief downpour of rain. An idle eye to the sky always seemed to give plenty of warning of the coming wetness so really it was not a problem.
We happily returned to the Sinar Bali as part of the cheap package deal, this time with Garuda Airlines as Air Paradise had just gone belly up and we were not a little surprised to get our money back from the travel wholesaler our favoured agent works through.
I was immediately struck by the extra leg room provided on the Garuda aircraft.
Rooms at the Sinar Bali surround the nice pool. These are the standard rooms, the others on the opposite side of the pool are not joined and appear a little larger.

Big Manager and Little Manager. Wayan Gindra on the left is the General Manager and constantly surprises me by being on-site every day, something I have not experienced on a small hotel in Bali before. Putu Suryadipta was running the laundry on our last stay in July but by December I had to anoint him with the title of Front Office Manager.
Putu is unflappable and a character with a bit more personality than others who would not suit a public position.
The Front Desk and its master.
